Which CDL Do I Need?

CDL Class Requirements and Exams

Class A

Certified to drive a combination vehicle with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or MORE pounds and if the trailer(s) has a GVWR of 10,001 or more pounds.

Permit Requirements

Class B

Certified to drive a single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more.

Permit Requirements

Class B Passenger/School

Certified to drive a bus that can carry 16 or more passengers. School bus drivers are required to get a school bus endorsement.
